Well many of use know that we are using 192.168.1.1 to configure our routers from our PC but how many of you know about it. The IP address 192.168.1.1 is the default for Linksys brand home broadband routers. This address is set by the manufacturer at the factory, but you can change it at any time using the network router’s administrative console. 192.168.1.1 is a private IPv4 network address. Any brand of network router, or any computer on a local network for that matter, can be set to use this address. These IP addresses are special, because they can be used many times over on different networks. In other words, two people can have 192.168.0.0/16 networks at the same time. The downside is that private IP address ranges are considered non-routable. What does that mean that private IP addresses cannot communicate on the Internet without the use of Network Address Translation (NAT).
